In España – Fantasía Sinfónica, Chugúyev channels his admiration for Spain into a symphonic celebration of its beauty and identity.
Yuri Chuguyev
is a Spanish composer and orchestra conductor. He moved to Málaga over 30 years ago to join the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, where he has remained ever since.
Among his works as a composer, the oratorio Ecumenicon (based on biblical texts) stands out. It premiered at the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico in 2007 and received a recommendation from the Vatican for its spiritual and cultural value.
Since 2008, he has served as Vice President and Cultural Director of 100 Cities for Peace, and since 2018, as Vice President of the Order of Peace Foundation.
In 2025, he was appointed an Academician of the Academia de la Diplomacia in Madrid.
His artistic contribution has been recognized with numerous awards:
– Prize at the European Art Festival (Telč, Czech Republic, 2006)
– Gustav Mahler Prize from the European Union of Arts (2009)
– Award at the International Catholic Film and Multimedia Festival “Niepokalanów” (Poland, 2010)
– “Talent and Vocation” medal from the “Peacemaker” Foundation (Moscow, 2017)
– Global Humanitarian Award from the World Humanitarian Drive (WHD) in London (2020)
